After moving to the north Denver area, I wanted to continue some sort of martial arts/fitness training and found this place online. I've only been attending for a few weeks but have made some observations. The training focuses on primarily using boxing/kick boxing techniques for self defense. The course is methodical and well thought through, with emphasis on technique. They don't rush people through the classes, having different sessions for contact sparring and non-contact training. Also, the adults are not required to earn multi- or rainbow colored belts.. It's sort of the anti-thesis of a mc dojo, so if you really badly want a black belt in 3 years this might not be the place for it. I'm mostly there to just continue to work on increasing/maintaining skills, learning new things, self-defense, and fitness. It stands out as being a great value (compared to other martial arts places in the area) with family discounts for multiple members and the instructors are very friendly, patient, and helpful. The facility is large, clean, and well appointed. Thank you and I'm looking forward to continued training with you!

This place is absolutely awesome! I have always wanted to try martial arts but was always too nervous to actually do it. I am a person that works out at the gym regularly and understands the intimidation factor of a gym, but just thinking about trying martial arts still made me nervous. I'm happy I bit the bullet and came to SMAF. I read reviews online and couldn't find a single negative comment about them.
After 3 intro classes I was hooked. I don't feel intimidated AT ALL and the trainers and class members are all very nice. They definitely push you out of your comfort zone and will challenge you, all in a good way. I also really enjoy that they are very thorough in their training not only with explaining the why and the how of what we are learning, but also perfecting our form and making sure we feel good and understand what we are learning. I can't wait to see how I grow both physically and mentally here. If you're on the fence just check it out, you have nothing to lose.

I trained here for many years on and off throughout my youth and early 20's. Jordan and Dayne are amazing leaders. They exude excellence in martial arts, and provide intense workouts. If you want to get fit and have real self defense training- or have kids who could use a spark of discipline and outlet for their energy- this is the best place.

Wonderful place and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this martial art family to any of those interested.
